About

Russ Holden has preached for the Grandville Church of Christ in Grandville, MI, since 1980. He is also a visiting teacher at the South Pacific Bible College in Tauranga, New Zealand. He has a B.A. from Lipscomb University (1975) and an M.Th. from Harding University Graduate School of Religion (1980). He and his wife, Kathy, have two grown children.

What is this blog about? The blog title is from Hebrews chapter 3.

But encourage each other daily, while it is still called today, so that none of you is hardened by sin’s deception.  Hebrews 3:13, HCSB (my emphasis)

This life is for making the decision for God. I have this moment in time, and I’m not guaranteed the next. I need to be responsive to God “while it is still called today.” The blog will be my place to ponder faith, culture, and daily life.

P.S. The photo in the header is sunrise taken from Jabel Musa, the traditional site identified with Mt. Sinai – not a bad place to ponder “Today.”

The scripture quotation on the header photograph is taken from the Holman Christian Standard Bible Copyright 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003 by Holman Bible Publishers. Used by permission.

    Hi Russ

I took your advice and made a stab at using WordPress to create a blog (which is actually more of a website, so far). It’s mostly text right now but I have some big dreams to put some flesh on the skeleton. I’ll keep tweaking for a while and then make an effort to advertise more widely later this year or in 2012.

    Thanks for your encouragement.
    Mary
